Goals for today: Teachers will be able to

1. Tell what the SAMR model is and be able to identify the correct level for a given lesson idea
2. Demonstrate an understanding of some basic ipad skills
3. Arrange images in the Camera Roll into Albums and explain why it's a good idea to do so
4. Locate and download iBooks from among the many sites which provide such books
5. Create and share notes, and make bookmarks in iBooks
6. Create and share a book using Book Creator
7. Create and share a screencast using one of the screencasting apps
8. Create and use QR codes and give examples of a good use for them

SAMR Model

• Definition - A hierarchy model that helps to identify how technology is being used in a lesson
• S - Substitution, A - Augmentation, M - Modification, R - Redefinition
• Why? It gives us an easy-to-understand vocabulary to use when discussing how technology was use in a lesson

• Flipboard - a GREAT news aggregator. PERFECT for following twitter hashtags, for example.
• Nearpod - for when you've got 1:1 access (or a cart)
• Notability - For notes. Take notes and leave audio notes
• Touchcast - Make interactive presentations of all kinds! Fantastic!
• Haiku Deck - makes BEAUTIFUL presentations!
• Stage - document camera app
